IT does not just happen; solution delivery is realized as the result of insight, leadership and teamwork. Good IT leaders do not operate in a vacuum; they must be proactive in business and use their expertise to bring about changes in IT that achieve business objectives.

I think that technology is fantastic and I have been involved in technology in one form or another since I was a teenager (back when there were vacuum tubes!). Over the years, I had to continually seek after technologies in attempt to learn, understand and eventually take advantage of them.  As I gained successive experience, I use technology like tools in a toolkit. Some tools work better than others and some get better with age. This has enabled me to bring about solutions that had impact as well as give me the ability to evaluate IT solution providers to determine how they will impact business success.
